Promedica Compobond 1 Light-Curing One-Component Adhesive

🔹 General Description

Promedica Compobond 1 is a premium, light-activated, one-component bonding agent engineered for the secure adhesion of composites and compomers to both dentin and enamel. Developed and manufactured in Germany, this single-component system streamlines total-etch bonding protocols by combining the primer and adhesive steps into a single bottle. This highly fluid resin exhibits exceptional wet-bonding properties, infiltrating open dentinal tubules deeply to create a tough, resilient hybrid layer that reduces microleakage and virtually eliminates postoperative sensitivity.

🔹 Package Details (Important)

  • Packaging: Single Direct-Dispense Dropper Bottle with Outer Protective Box

  • Contents:

    • 1 Bottle of Compobond 1 (4mL configuration)

    • Technical instructions and clinical handling guide

  • 👉 Total: 1 complete one-component dental bonding agent pack

🔹 Key Features

  • One-Component Simplicity: Eliminates multi-step component mixing or priming phases, reducing technique sensitivity and optimizing precious chairside workflow time.

  • Excellent Hydrophilic Wet-Bonding Action: Spreads smoothly over conditioned, slightly moist dentin surfaces, ensuring perfect chemical adaptation and gap-free marginal seals.

  • High Shear Bond Strength: Delivers exceptional mechanical anchorage to both etched enamel structures and dentinal substrates, ensuring long-term retention of direct fillings.

  • Advanced Marginal Protection: Seals dentinal tubules securely against internal chemical irritants and external bacterial ingress, protecting the pulp and lowering recurring secondary caries risks.

  • Universal Restorative Compatibility: Optimally formulated to work flawlessly under all modern light-curing resin-based filling materials, composites, and compomers.

🔹 Indications

  • 🔹 Direct light-cured composite and compomer restorations across all cavity classifications (Classes I, II, III, IV, and V).

  • 🔹 Conditioning and sealing of exposed tooth neck surfaces or vulnerable root areas.

  • 🔹 Adhesive pre-treatment for structural core build-ups under artificial crown preparations.

🔹 Clinical Notes

  • Isolate the operative field thoroughly using a rubber dam. Prepare the cavity, apply a traditional phosphoric acid etching gel (enamel for 20–30s, dentin for 15s), rinse thoroughly with water, and blot excess moisture to leave the dentin slightly glistening.

  • Dispense a single drop of Compobond 1 onto a clean mixing well, pick up the material with a microbrush applicator, and scrub the adhesive evenly into the prepared tooth surfaces for approximately 15 to 20 seconds.

  • Disperse the volatile solvent carriers using a very gentle, dry oil-free air stream for 5 seconds until the resin film appears immobile, highly glossy, and uniform.

  • Light-cure the adhesive layer thoroughly for 20 seconds using a standard dental light-curing unit before initiating incremental composite incremental placement.

💡 Summary

A highly predictable and high-performance total-etch single-component bonding agent built to secure daily direct composite aesthetics. Offering great storage stability, excellent wetting abilities, and immense structural bond strength within a single 4mL direct-delivery bottle, it provides dental clinicians with a swift, dependable, and pulp-protective tool for exceptional marginal integrity.
